Position summary

The student assistant will support the Development team in general office duties which include keeping files organized, answering the telephone, greeting visitors, keeping storage area organized, making copies as needed, filing, checking inventory (envelopes, stamps, letterhead, general stationery), data entry, social media posts (Facebook and Instagram), and impact reports. 

Qualifications summary

This job requires excellent organizational and communication skills and the ability to work with the Development team in a professional manner at all times. 

Knowledge of Excel, Word is a must. Knowledge of Adobe, Adobe Photoshop, Canva is a plus. 

 

Duties and responsibilities

The student assistant will support the Development team in general office duties which include keeping files organized, answering the telephone, greeting visitors, keeping storage area organized, making copies as needed, filing, and checking inventory (envelopes, stamps, letterhead, general stationery).

The student assistant will retrieve daily mail, open and distribute.

The student assistant will make donor thank you calls, if needed. 

The student assistant will help with general mailing, emailing, and creating social media content as needed during Giving Tuesday, Giving Day or Annual Fund campaigns. 

The student assistant will assist the Gift Records Coordinator with data entry, data research, thank you receipts, and with mailings related to gift records.

Supervisory responsibilities

The student assistant does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

The student assistant will be proficient in the English language both written and verbal. 

The student assistant will be proficient in Word and Excel; become proficient in Banner system.

The student assistant will be a self starter, able to get a job started and finished without constant supervision.

Interpersonal interactions

The student assistant will have excellent communication skills and will maintain a professional courteous presence both on the telephone and in person at all times.

Physical demands

The student assistant should have the physical ability to do general filing, copy various projects at a copy machine, and sit at a desk doing general office duties.

Work environment

The work environment is in a suite of offices.  The student assistant will have a desk to work at and will also use the conference work table for larger projects.
